39 Week Check-In

I know our baby is already here, but I thought it would be fun to do one last "pregnancy check-in".  I was induced at exactly 39 weeks because my blood platelet count dropped dangerously low.  Here is how I was feeling when I hit that 39th week...

Third Trimester Pregnancy Favorites

With my size day due date range, we are now somewhere between 12 days and one week out from Baby Boy Dunn's arrival!  And just in case he decides to camp out a little longer, I have an induction scheduled for 13 days from now.  I can't believe we are finally here.  With the end in sight, I decided to create a roundup of my "Third Trimester Pregnancy Favorites."  As you remember, I also created a recap of my first trimester "favorites" and a recap of my second trimester "favorites- all the things that really helped me get through that particular trimester. From food to lotions, this list sums up my go-to items the last few weeks of my pregnancy. 3rdTrimesterFINAL Third Trimester Pregnancy Favorites
  • TheraRUB Electric Massager Screen Shot 2015-10-09 at 2.06.57 PM
A few weeks ago, I bought this electric massager and a little hand held massager to throw in our "Hospital Bag".  Turned out that I needed it much sooner than that!  This electric massager has been extremely helpful in alleviating my intense back pain.  The cord is 14 feet long, making it easy to use virtually wherever.  Click here to buy or check out the TheraRUB Electric Massager.
  • Plastic Tumblers with Straws Screen Shot 2015-10-09 at 2.10.57 PM
Two years ago, I bought a plastic tumbler with a  straw from my favorite juice bar, Nekter.  Little did I know that I would become obsessed with it during my pregnancy!  For some reason, I have found that I drink significantly more water when I use this cup with a straw.  I take it with my everywhere, and make sure to fill it at least eight times a day.
  • up & up Cocoa Butter Moisturizing Lotion Screen Shot 2015-10-09 at 2.05.30 PM
As you remember from my "Not So Pretty Truth About Pregnancy" post, there is no such thing as a magical lotion or cream that will prevent stretch marks.  Sorry to burst your bubble, but if you're destined to get them, learn to embrace them!  With that being said, I still use lotion every day to help with the itchy skin (due to stretching), and to make sure   my skin stays hydrated.  I am in love with Target's cocoa butter lotion.  It smells amazing and gives my skin intense hydration all day.   Plus, you can buy a giant (20.3 oz) tub of it for less than $5!
  • Warm Baths Screen Shot 2015-10-09 at 2.05.00 PM
I now take a warm bath every night before bed.  I also wrote about this in my 37 Week Pregnancy Check-In.  My aches and pains are fairly intense these days, and soaking in the tub for 30-45 minutes before hitting the sheets has been very helpful.  One night in particular was terrible with all of the cramping and backaches, so finally around 3 o'clock in the morning, I got up and took another warm bath.  After that, I immediately fell asleep and finally got some relief!  My only regret is that I didn't discover the warm baths earlier in my pregnancy.  This was only added to my routine around week 35.
  • Belly Bandit's Upsie Belly Support Band Screen Shot 2015-10-09 at 2.08.39 PM
This was another repeat from my "Second Trimester Pregnancy Favorites," but I still swear by it!  The Belly Bandit's Upsie Belly Support Band has been key in relieving some of the back pains that have come with this pregnancy.  While it's not always discrete under form fitting clothing, I can't go out without it!  I love the way it lifts my baby bump and takes most of the pressure off of my lower back.  For you moms-to-be, if you have not invested in one of these, I highly recommend you purchase one ASAP!
  • Fruit Salads Screen Shot 2015-10-09 at 2.15.48 PM
I have been craving fruit for weeks now.  My husband, who was a chef for several years, cuts up various fruits and makes a giant fruit salad for me to snack on every week!  It has been a wonderful and refreshing treat especially since it is still so hot here in Texas!
  • Fairlife Chocolate Milk
Another repeat from my Second Trimester Pregnancy Favorites!  I still drink a glass of this awesomeness a day.  At 13g of protein per 1 cup serving, I feel happy knowing that I'm treating my self to a healthy "cheat snack"!    Your turn! -What items did you love during your third trimester?
